Giba Gorge has finally been given all their approvals from eThekwini Municipality to develop their property as per their long term vision for the Giba Gorge valley! Their approvals, obtained on the 14th December 2020 are to Consolidate their 2 existing Erf’s into one property (Portion 13041 of Pinetown) & simultaneously Sub-divide the Consolidated property into 3 separate properties according to their respective Zonings (approved in 2015). Giba Gorge will become a “Mixed Use” development based on the following new Sub-divisions:
Portion 1 of ERF 34041, Pinetown:
This is the Tourism Zone incorporating Recreation, Sport & Tourism (www.gibagorge.co.za). It will include the existing Restaurant, Bike Park, Conference centres, Adventure Zone, etc & the proposed Giba River Walk Craft Market.
Portion 2 of ERF 34041, Pinetown
This is the Business Park area incorporating Light Industrial, Commercial, Mixed Use & Office development. (www.gibabusinesspark.co.za)
Remainder of ERF 34041, Pinetown
Conservation Zone, Giba Conservancy
Based on the above, Giba is now looking to sell some sites within the Business Park area to help their cash flow to formalise the whole development. For now the sites will be sold as “99 Year Leases” with the long term intention to formally sub-divide the Business Park area into 11 separate “Freehold Sites”!
